From what I've seen, most Turks look darker than most southern Europeans; however, a select few look particularly dark, even though they don't have visible SSA influence. Is this phenotype/skin-pigmentation native to Anatolia (think back to early Iron Age) or does it have anything to do with Arab migration? I've read that during the Middle Ages, some Christian Bedouins would be settled in Anatolia for helping the Byzantines against the Muslims. Or maybe that's gypsy influence?
