I kid, I kid. Though you may be aware of German dialects in the US already, I've gone down quite the rabbithole with random dialects recently. I found a website with audio recordings of German-American dialect speakers today and I thought you would like it.

I found the way this Wisconsin High German one pretty interesting, though obviously I don't speak German. What can you hear in this? Anything particularly of note, or just German + American accent?

There are no "interests of Slavs". Interests of Poles or Croats are not in line with interests of Russians or Serbs.
Slavs accepted western rite Christianity before eastern, and there is nothing that makes Byzantine rite more "Slavic" compared to Roman. Old Slavs were pagans.

The Russian people are an outlier in a sense that other Orthodox Christians tend to be in a direct neighborhood with Catholic Christians. The Russian people are neighbored by the Protestant Christians on the Northwestern flank and by fellow Orthodox Christians on the Southwestern flank. You don't tend to have particular feelings towards Catholic Christians when you don't even have a direct exposure to them.

The last time the topic of the intra-Christian confrontation on the Northwestern flank was relevant was way before the Protestant reformation and is essentially unimportant to the modern Russian people.

Rite is Rite and there is Western Rite used in Orthodox Church, the one you think defines the Catholicism as something separate, while Catholicism difference itself is not about the Rite, but the supremacy of the Pope and many heretical innovations like the Filioque, the Immaculate conception of the Mother of God etc. Rite itself has nothing to do with Heresy or Orthodoxy/Catholicism, but exact heresies do define and separate one from another.

Orthodox Church has lots of Popes of Rome (righteous Orthodox bishops) on the list of saints. Orthodoxy (even not as OC, but as a term) is in teaching and belonging to One Church, preserving and preaching the original faith, it's not in "national traditions" or the the external rite.

The traditionalist understanding of faith leads to misconceptions and substitution of values, so in fact both Catholic and Orthodox person can be an unconcious heretic because he "professes" his faith for false reasons and motivation. Like "I'm Catholic because I'm Croat" or if I said that "I'm Orthodox because I'm Russian", instead of "Jesus Christ and His Canonical Church with uncorrupted teaching is the only path to salvation for anyone living in this World and I'm not an exception".

Traditionalist mindset on religion never gave me answers and I found it so boring and meaningless, like some kind of crypto ideology which ties and focuses you on this World and does not give real perspective out of few decades spent here.

And this civil conflicts of Serbs/Croats over Catholicism/Orthodoxy, including online ones, for me are barely clerical, people base their views on their ethnicity, they barely use religious apologetic takes, whole mindset is national, cultural, they don't question own views by the only proper, dogmatic way, they really don't care about it.

That's why conscious fiery Prots, who ask questions and seek for truth often become way more devoted Orthodox Christians as converts, without pseudoreligious Traditionalist and Cultural garbage, unlike many Catholics and "born Orthodox".

As for the Great Schism, before it there was one Church. What is now called Catholic Church professed same dogmas, canonical rules, Creed as Orthodox Church professes now and back then. OC didn't change since then and didn't accept any kind of heresies. Truth is more important than national traditions, legacy of ancestors, but being from an environment with such mindset makes it very hard to destroy those mental idols. That's why some Prot communities unattached to all kind of the mental burden of centuries find the uncorrupted Truth rapidly.

Germans are respected and were always respected here, no WWI or WWII or something from previous centuries had influence on it. Unlike Poles, for example. But Poles were always in attention seeker position in these antipathic neighborly relations, our antipathy towards them is mild and uninterested.
