They paved the way for it to get to this point, now they panic. You don't fix the problems with those who created them in the first place. I think people might have already realized that.

Well, I'm assuming he only engaged in that kind of stuff in private, and his mom was always around and I was never left with him alone. She was a pretty responsible babysitter and I'm certain she had no idea what her loser NEET son was up to. I don't know how my parents found out but I remember them saying I'm not going to go over there anymore and that he's in the news, that he got arrested for the shit on his computer, apparently he tried to sell it to an undercover FBI agent or something.

Usually kids who violate other kids' boundaries are copying something an adult did to them or that they've seen adults do.

People can change and evolve. In the case of Greer, even between the 1970's and 1980's she became somewhat more conservative, and has become even more so since then. Although she is still mostly remembered for The Female Eunuch, the truth is she has long abandoned quite a lot of what she advocated in it - she has since then realised the value of motherhood and marriage, become increasingly sceptical about pornography and has been especially outspoken against gender ideology (and many universities in particular have indeed cancelled her for it).

Here in the UK, there was a much-loved TV presenter called Jimmy Savile who turned out to be a serial paedophile. As it happens, my sister met him as a child, and my Mum has told me she found him fishy and weird even then, so unlike lots of other mothers she always watched my sister while she was with him.
