North Atlantids are easy to find there, just not as one of main types.

I'm mostly of Spanish stock, and not even from Northern Spain, except for some distant ancestry from Castilla-Leon, and several users have classified me as alpinized North Atlantid.

3/4 of my family are from northwestern Spain, around 1/3 of them are North-Atlantids.

Not rare, but, obviously, a minority.

Firstly what are the three pigment characteristics that the North Atlantid embodies ; Pale skin, sometimes ruddy or freckled (von Luschan 1 - 5), dark hair (mainly brown) sometimes black or reddish and lastly light eyes which are often blue in colour. Most Southern Europeans are not pale and freckly, few have blue eyes, though most are dark hair. So the occurrence for this type is occasional not common. In France, they are most common in the northwest as it is the bluest - eyed region not in the south. In Italy and Spain, they’d be more common in their northern regions as well. In morphology, the North Atlantid looks more Keltic Nordid than anything that also decreases its presence in those lands.
In fact the North Atlantid corresponds to Hooton’s «*Keltic*» race where the skin is described as pale white skin.

Pale, sometimes ruddy or freckled skin. Forehead is narrow and sloping, mandible small, malars compressed.
The first sentence, and maybe the second one too, make NA rarer in those places than in the UK and Ireland. However, distinguishing a NA and a blue-eyed faired-skin Atlanto-Med can be a bit tricky, and we'll be biased when we know the ethnicity of the person.
EDIT : Oops, redundant post with Septentrion's one.

Not as uncommon as other varieties of the Nordid branch, but evidently a minority...

Some kind of deep ancient asian part is what sets apart the North Atlantid from others. Spanish and French might have a recent asian part from Alans which makes it tough to classify
