You can't change his perspective or what he was taught in school, even if you present him with thousands of factual DNA proofs.
In fact all in Balkans are close, but Macedonians are closest to Vlachs/Ghegs/North Greece in average, Bulgarians are in top5 for sure.
it's all variety of PaleoBalkanic and Slavic DNA , depend on percentage and region , some are more PaleoBalkanic less Slavic , some more Slavic less PaleoBalkanic with plus some percentage of something else.
This region has been shaped by countless wars and periods of enslavement, making it remarkable that Balkan populations still carry over 50% of Paleo-Balkan ancestry.
