Haha. It's an abstract of the model. Finns have Uralic ancestry, and when not accounted for, boosts the Steppe artificially.

My take on this is that it's just sheer coincidence. I plot in the Vahaduo PCA among a subset Anglo-Saxons who carry basically the same levels of Steppe ancestry and/or high WHG ancestry.

The Anglo-Saxons from England and the Frisians descend from the same Early Medieval founder population. Frisians genetically remained the the same since then. England is a different story obviously.

If you go back further time, there is a LNBA continuity in the southern North Sea region (Netherlands, Northwestern Germany, Denmark) stretching back to Single Grave and their Bell Beaker heirs.
