My French ancestry I believe comes from my great grandfather on my mom's side was from Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, Nord, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France. English Ancestry comes from Stoke on Trent, Yorkshire (fairly certain), and earlier colonial English immigrants. My Scottish is from Lanarkshire and other unknown sources. Irish is from Down Ireland from the 1800s. And other Irish from maybe Northern Ireland because my Scottish ancestors that I know of had married with some men from Northern Ireland. German ancestry is primarily from the Rhineland. Specifically Feil. Other German ancestors (3rd Great Grandmother) were from Rumbach, Pfalz, Bavaria. Her husband was also from Germany but not sure where. Other German ancestors come from North Rhine-Westphalia and Hessen. I have Belgian ancestry too. I didn't mention it in my profile because genetically many Belgians are French and it's theorized my Belgian line ultimately came from people from France moving into Belgium.


What's interesting here is that you have known Italian ancestry and I do not based on the genealogical research I have done.

I'll add that The further back I go there is a ton of British Isle derived ancestry which is reflected in my admixture data. So what happened is my French, German, Belgian ancestry got absorbed into the British Isles derived colonial white American genepool plus recent British Isles migration from my great grandfather from England (Stoke on Trent) and my great grandmother from Scotland (Lanarkshire) in the 1900s. That is how I interpret my results. The consistent near east is fascinating. I'm sure that it's real. It appears my Near Eastern admix is likely due to post-Neolithic gene flow, possibly introduced into Southern Europe during the Roman Empire, and later absorbed into Western Europe through Medieval or early modern interactions. I have the qpAdm data to back it up plus the recurring near east results in various G25 calculations.
