Your uncle is 'marginally' a bit more 'Saami' than me.

Perhaps a couple of Brits, may have a small bit of Saami From the Norse Vikings. only a little
That's if Polako includes the UK. Would be cool if they did.

Here's my K12 chromosome painting. Quite informative, really. In all of these various tets available at Gedmatch, I keep being surprised at how much northeast European (Baltic, Finnish, Volga, whatever the terminology used) is showing up in my paintings. It's not super-high but higher than I would've expected.
I've done extensive genealogical research and have yet to find an ancestor from further east than Hildsheim in north-central Germany (and that's only one person, let alone dozens involved in a folk-migration) so I'm not sure where it's coming from. Perhaps the Paleolithic.

Like the way you set that up Allenson, so I copied you.

It's thought to be a bottleneck phenomenon inside Finland, resulting in a high genetic similarity. In other words, all Europeans have the "Finnish" genes, but Finns only have a narrow portion of the European genetic spectrum due to low population and periphery effect.
Don't know how this retales to the Volga peoples, though.
Or is it something that's constantly different from other Americans with similar ancestry?

Since you have a decent amount of Scottish ancestry I would definitely attribute the South Baltic, Finnish, and Volga-Ural admixture scores to the Germanic/Norse peoples who settled in Scotland. Also, Lahtari is absolutely right about the Finnish not having a lot of the genes other Europeans have but other Europeans having some Finnish genes.

It's just allele sharing most of the time, unless you can match some of those Northeastern tracts with Ancestry Finder hits at 23andMe.
I don't know how precise I can make these paintings at intra-North European level (which means anywhere from Ireland to the Volga), due to extensive allele sharing. But with more samples I might be able to tighten things up by a couple per cent, which would be nice. I'll probably try again in a couple of months, when new academic samples are released.

Good question and one to which I don't know the answer. I haven't been able to compare with other Yanks of a similar pedigree to me as I don't know any that have done 23&Me and run their raw data through Polako's tools.
Amongst my contacts at 23&Me, my closest matches are all Brits--Graham's my closest one.![]()
