It's certainly not an accurate topic, a lot of this geneaology is based on old records, probably not all of it correct, and the further back you go, the more inaccurate it gets..but it's still what is commonly accepted, so I'll play along. A 3rd generation gun is a precious thing. A gun that your parent passed on to you from a grandparent is something money cannot buy. I wouldn't sell my grandfathers Winchester model 1912 (mfg. 1917) for $100K, and it doesn't even work. I have a Winchester Model 1907 that my father shot deer with in the 1950's He died this last November, just before deer season. That rifle is 100 years old this year and I am going to shoot a buck with it if I have to stay afield for 16 days ...
