I really dont like to choose western europe here, because for me Austria is central europe.

Well done! Germany and Austria have always been Central Europe -so-called "the central Powers"- which despised the West (France and England),

I suppose I could have/should have slotted Greece in SE instead of Balkan. Since only Pontios of the Greeks have put it in Balkan, maybe I should change my OP description.

If Greece is Southern, than rest of Balkans is Eastern Europe.
