Incidentally, my sister had some dealings with gypsies recently, the first time I'd ever heard of gypsies in America. She thought they were something like Native Americans, for what that's worth.

I know they say they wouldnt and that they never met a Gypsy at all. That was the reason I asked in the first place. But so many diverse answeres from mestizo, mullato to indian immigrant as if its all the same and cant be distinguished. But I suspect with her skin colour some might think she is multiricial black even, or native american like smittys sister eventhough she doesnt look like that but some could think that i suspect.

She doesn't look fully European, but she doesn't look fully East Indian or West Asian either. As multi racial people are more common in North America than Roma or west asian peoples they would just assume she is a mix.

I think your mother would be most likely guessed as someone with South Asian/Indian ancestry.

She looks fairly similar to women you find in India and if she would wear a Sari i think no one would doubt she is native Indian

As in multiracial you mean mullato and mestizo? Or black, amerindian and white combo something like mixed race hispanic?
