A proposal for a truely federal United Kingdom

I take it you want to change England into a "United States of England" ? What would be the plans for Scotland and Wales ? And for Ireland (of course) ?

I think it would all become generally a bit better if they eventually became independent.

The institution of the monarchy is more important than who is wearing the crown and whatever you may think of her. Also, consider her position: she has no real control over immigration policies and she has a duty to safeguard all her subjects. Though it is true that I don't remember hearing her speaking out against such things, or any of the ridiculous laws that have been put into effect in recent years, and she seems to just go along with whatever parliament says. Perhaps her own personal feelings are different, though, but it could be said she undermines her own position. Still, she behaves in a manner which gives her institution great credit; with real grace and dignity which I respect.

A bit of an animated symbol. King John got it going then Cromwell, then William and Mary; power has passed to the Parliamentarians. Nowadays the Monarchary has little directive power within Britain. Nevertheless like the American Supreme Court; a branch of Government with a life term.
