Russian forces cross Ukrainian border 22.02.2022 morning

Bandera himself didn't do much, spent most of the war locked up in a German prison, but his organization (UPA) massacred 100,000 Poles, assisting German Nazis for their own nationalistic reasons.

Today just replace Poles with Russians.

However, Ukrainian hatred against Poles did not come for no reason.

Poland was rulling east Slavics land in a colonial manner. And it invaded parts of USSR in early 20th century, imposing their rule in regions where Ukrainians were majority.

There's no justification of massacre. But Poles did a lot of wrong towards Ukrainians in history. That's how first Cossacks appeared as well.

Ironically because of Polish and Austrian opression many Galicians were very pro-Russian in the begging of the 20th century (Rusyns are still quite pro- Russian sometimes) but later many of these Pro-Russian got massacred and escaped to the Soviet Union were they were settled in the Donbass and South Russia. So i think lot of the descendants of these Galicians are now fighting for DNR and LNR.

Obviously, since they are UA ultranationalists, those that don't feel brotherly towards Russians. Russians and Poles are rivals.
I assume most of them are from western Ukraine tho.

My comment was just against demonization of Bandera, from UA nationalist point of view. He collaborated with Germans because they offered him something, but he was obviously not their lapdog when their interests did not align.

I mention that opinion few months ago.
Ukrainians and Belarusians would be Russians as any other, if these areas were not conquered by Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth.

Probably because Croats just like Ukrainians collaborated with Germans simply because only German nazis offered us own state while all other great powers were completely against it.

The original Bandera followers who fought for independent Ukraine died 80 years ago.


Modern followers of Bandera flipped Poles for Russians, live in independent Ukraine and fight for pretty much the opposite goal - fighting for lands that have nothing to do with Ukraine.


They fight AGAINST the freedom of people who want to live in Russia.
