I got 2.7% red sea. What does that exactly mean ? Is it accurate ? Is it "Jewish"?

Curious to see various member's Red Sea percentages.

    Via Gedmatch K13, my parents:

    Father- 2.08%
    Mother- 1.44%

Hmm, my father’s seems pretty high...virtually at the same level as OP, who is an ethnic Croat.

It`s a Mena component. Obviously it has a high frequency in Israelites (given the geography), but even more so in Saudi Arabians and Jemenites.

In Europe it peaks in the South. Your percentage is around the North Italian average.

Edit: Op is also around the Serbian average, so nothing out of the norm I guess.

According to the Eurogenes K13 spreadsheet 2.7% is a bit high for average Croatian from Croatia but similar to the average North Italian (2.78%) and slightly above the average Serb from Serbia (2.50%).

Given that you are a Southern Croat I would take no surprise at all. Percentages of the components themselves are not important. You should focus on how you compare to the populations on the spreadsheets.

According to oral family tradition E-FT155550 comes from a deserter of Napoleon's troops (1808-1813) who stayed in Spain and changed his surname.
