Isn't Amazonas in the 30~40% Amerindian average?

I've seen many results in 23andme that are usually above the average for a certain group. DNA tests in Brazil are usually taken in state capitals. When member Curupira was active (but this was in another forum), he showed a lot a results from the interior of Brazil that had higher percentages of Ameridian or European ancestry than in samples taken from the capitals.

Curupira also created the same thread here in TA but all images either expired or were deleted unfortunately.

Wait, so even Amazonian Brazilians arent fully Amerindian? How did they mix with euros if they lived in such remote areas? Wtf?

The Amazonians living in the cities mixed with the Portuguese. The people living in Indigenous Reservations, I'm not that sure. Maybe that guy is from a reservation or his parents were.

I'm assuming the person in question is a native, or one of his parents parents, as Camargo pointed probably from a reservation. As that levels of AME ancestry in brazilians are extremely rare.

As of 2024 I think even people from that area are unlikely to be fully indigenous at this point, that area received some european immigration + a lot of migrants from other areas of Brazil which is something that affects the demographics of the region.
This dude said in a group that he as a grandparent from Northeast Brazil and some great-grandparents from Portugal, most of his euro DNA is probably coming from this.

"According to Census microdata, the Amazon had a population of 25,474,365 people in 2010. Of these, 2,094,017 were Brazilian migrants, 9,853 were foreign migrants (from other countries) and 323,810 were migrants under 5 years of age, without period 2005-2010."

Wait, so he had Portuguese grandparents (avós)? Or would that be great-grandparents (bisavós)? I'm asking 'cause a grandparent would be 25%, so 2 grandparents would be 50%.
