This in fact kills the stereotype of the “dark - eyed” Welshman. The English do have higher rates of blond or light hair than Wales.

The “real Welsh” so to speak didn’t belong to the Mediterranean race rather to the Cromagnid notably the Paleo Atlantid. Today the Paleo Atlantid is occasionally found in Northern Europe all to the way to Western Norway and Iceland and in Western Europe as far south as France and Western Germany. Nowhere in continental Europe, does this type dominate. It’s highest frequency is in Wales, Central Scotland. The Paleo Atlantid usually combines dark hair and dark or mixed eye colour and is heavily built or stocky. It is far from gracile like Meds. You were just confused.
