I watched Terminator: Dark Fate (2019) the other night. The woke girl power/political correctness/SJW bs was so annoying that I had to turn it off. Not recomended unless you like that stuff. I certainly don't.

non-intellectual movies :
bloodshot ,not bad but recooked from Terminator and robocop and similar
the old guard, good but not exceptionnal but pretty decent
shazam, birds of prey, funny but not hilarious
and still have to watch 2 russian ones than i have download unfortunatly english dubbed ,i have and indian telugu one to watch "tik tik tik " if i could have the hand on it ,seems pretty decent and high budgeted
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ug9zvC9pJM
"Attraction 2: invasion" looks huge and "the Blackout:invasion earth " looks promising too ,not the first time than i watch pretty decent and budgeted russian movies ,that's because "aliens" are tired of landing in USA
the blackout look kickassing
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feRnTQ5XUGk
but the real serious and not joking TV show to watch is "Another Life",you have no idea the snap in the face than you taking it when you watch this
,so really underated and unestimated, after the difficult start, it's a true gem ,the best sci fi tv show of the last decade with "the childhood's end" trilogy ,a real masterpiece for HxC sci-fi fans but i have the season 3 of Westworld to watch too

I had to watch the movie Troy / with Brother Pitt /. And it doesn't fit my mind, are these idiots so big in the United States to pit the Thessalian Achilles against the Thessalian troops, that is, his at the beginning of the film, and to put the city of Sparta on the beach, since he is still on his feet? the middle of the peninsula. I accept that they can ignore Homer as the creator of the Iliad and make free writings and kill Menelaus at the beginning of the film, but to ignore geography as a science is totally strange to me.

The Missouri Breaks - Not bad, could've been better. Could've been a very good horror if they'd focused on Marlon Brando's character more, and less 70s wackiness. Nice scenery too. 7/10.

Watched Reservoir Dogs for the 8th time or something.
The thing about this masterpiece is that visually not much is happening, the movie is mostly set up in a warehouse.
What differentiates Tarantino and Kubrick from other Directors is the fact they can create suspense by long dialogs and dont follow a default movie pattern.
I cannot enjoy movies anymore that are predictable and 90% of the movies are predictable, every fucking marvel movie has the same blueprint it follows just with another protagonist and set, how can anyone enjoy such a bullshit?
Kon-Tiki. Really nice movie.

Suspicion - decent for its time and quite funny, Cary Grant and Nigel Bruce were good comic actors. 6/10
Captain Phillips - was alright, what I expected, a bit boring. Damn, Somalians are ugly and evil looking. 5.5/10
The Dish - nice little Australian film about the Parkes Observatory in rural NSW that broadcast the Moon landing to the world. Was better than I remembered it being. 7.5/10

I agree that Breaker Morant is probably the best I've seen, but I haven't seen that many. Most Australian films I tend to avoid, especially more recent ones. I haven't even seen Picnic at Hanging Rock, which is one of the most iconic.
My favourite Australian film for sentimental reasons is The Shiralee (1987), which was a two-part TV movie based on a book by D'arcy Niland, the original film made in the 50s is also meant to be good but I haven't seen it.

Breaker Morant is right up there with some American classics IMO so it's not a bad signature film. It was shown a lot on America TV in the 80s and 90s on "Saturday matinees" or late at night but they don't have programming like that anymore.

They still show old movies (pre-70s) at midday in Australia, they used to show them late at night but not so much anymore. In the 90s it was always old Westerns (like Red River, which my granddad convinced me he was in) and terrible Elvis movies. Also a lot of 30-50s British films are shown here that are hard to find otherwise, but I rarely watch TV.
I saw a bit of The Magic Box (1951) about William Friese-Greene on TV a few weeks ago, which seemed like a nice movie, but difficult to find online.
Andron - sci-fi / 2015
Damn, it sucked. Only first 30 minutes of it were alright, later it becomes too idiotic. I don't know what Alec Baldwin was doing in it.

I’ve recently been to the cinema with my husband to watch the Macedonian film Honeyland, by Ljubomir Stefanov et Tamara Kotevska. It’s a very artistic documentary displaying the tough life of a woman of Turkish descent, Hatidže Muratova, who is a loner beekeeper of wild bees living in a remote mountain village.

And yesterday, I’ve watched at home with my husband the movie Alexis Zorba (1964), by Michael Cacoyannis, adapted from a novel by Nikos Kazantsakis.
The movie is very dark, leaving a very bitter taste concerning Greek society, at least on small islands. The atmosphere is so oppressive, there is so much violence towards women. I’m not sure how consistent it is with reality, though. But it reminded me of this forum…
Irene Papas’ presence is very powerful as always and her gaze is so deep.

I thought it was pretty good in terms of the authentic appearance of Vikings vs other movies. It's more focused on peasant life so of course no all the characters are technically "Vikings" since that was an occupation but probably a good representation of Norse life

Period drama. Very authentic and devoid of any kitsch. I really enjoyed this movie.
I'm gonna sound like a grumpy old man now, but I really appreciate how the pacing of films from yesteryear really took their time. Nowadays, everything is just wham, bam, bang, wiz, whirl - I find myself disconnected and disinterested in many popular films. Anyway, yesterday I convinced my 11-year-old son to watch this film with me, and he very much enjoyed it.

Volhynia (Pl: Wołyń) also titled Hatred (2016). War drama about the persecution of Poles in Volhynia by Ukrainian nationalists amidst WWII. I recommend it. Great acting, no kitsch, feels very authentic. Be advised it gets extremely gruesome. The characters are fictional, but it's based on true events (the movie has a website with information and testimonies). Banned in the Ukraine.

I watched Poltergeist II for the first time last night. I wasn't a huge fan. I had to read the Wikipedia plot section to really get an idea of what the story was trying to tell me. Then I just got sucked into reading about the death of Dominique Dunne and the trial of her murderer, which was much more interesting than the movie!
I would read the novelization, though. I think that the story is an interesting one... it just didn't work out so great in movie-form.

The last movie I've watched is the Polish movie Boże Ciało (Corpus Christi), from 2019 and which takes a caustic look, but not without hope, at the Catholic Church. Beautiful movie, my husband loved it. It was made by Jan Komasa and the main actor is Bartosz Bielenia, who looks tough and angelic at the same time.

Back to the future (1985). Hard to believe but I have watched it only now. It was entertaining, I can see where the series popularity comes from. I am shocked to find out that the actor playing Marty was 6 or 7 years older than the character who was supposed to be a teenager back then! I would definitely ask him for an ID card If I were to sell him alcohol, lol. :D

Ignore the awful song in the trailer, I don't think it appears in the film. Thank God.

Quite an interesting film about the modern generation of Germans, and about their differences from the previous ones. Small Marxist injections are present.

Pretty good, one of Peter Weir's first films. Has a nice mysterious (noir-ish) unsettling atmosphere, which you rarely get in Australian films. 7/10.
Also watched Tremors and The Mist recently, which were entertaining.

Picnic at Hanging Rock. Not my cup of tea exactly, but certainly thought-provoking and very good quality as Peter Weir's films tend to be. More of a great work of art than a great movie IMO, the story isn't all that interesting but it's a beautiful film, shot very artistically and authentic to the period and place. 7.5/10 for staying my mind, largely for the girls in it. The first part of the movie until the disappearance is 10/10.

You can laugh at me as much as you want... but I always dreamed to be an Astronaut, my entire life... it's more than just a dream... my soul was always somewhere up there... When watching this scene I often imagine I am one of them, just laugh at me ok..., but I would give anything to have that sign on my arms, sign of the mission, nevermind how dangerous it is... I wish I can just go one time up there, greets to those who can understand me on this.

Patriot (2000) - movie of my childhood, when I saw it many times (and loved it). Well, it didn't age good with me. Heavily biased, unrealistic and cringy, but still dear movie to me. Now I would rate it as very average in quality and propaganda kind of movie, but still I like these patriotic Murican films and I liked the cast a lot and it's still pretty cool :D
Mystic River (2003) - another movie I saw many times. But I still love it. It's overrated ofcourse, but this is one of those movie that I can always watch. Love the actors (except Sean Penn who is bit over the top, but his character is excellent) , and love the atmosphere of white working class Boston hood.
Ford v Ferarri (2019) - extremely boring to me, quit watching after 15-20 minutes. I never saw it before and been reading reviews now which say it's very good, but I have no will to watch it to the end at all, probably unjust, but this movie didn't click with me. Californian setting is totally uninspiring to me as well.

Welcome to Woop Woop - Funny underrated Aussie film I hadn't seen in years.
Everest - Not very captivating. I had to ask someone if the main guy died in the end (spoiler: he did)
The Wind and the Lion - Kind of stupid and has a weird comical tone without being funny, but the portrayal of Theodore Roosevelt was pretty good.
Interstellar.
JUST.

I came across this stop-motion film yesterday evening and watched it by chance.
It's a work-of-art.
It's quite scary in parts such as when the rat climbs into her hair, and also the dolls with glass eyes.
It features horror, sadness, fantasy and is based on the famous novel of English author Lewis Carroll. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lewis_Carroll
I did some research and found that this film version was made by Jan Švankmajer;- a Czech filmmaker and artist. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jan_%C5%A0vankmajer
I love stop-motion cinematography.

Tattoo (2002) - stylish thriller, but lacking substance and I dislike when Germans copy American style. One of early roles of my favorite August Diehl although not his best. I liked the visuals a lot though.
LBJ (2016) - American movie concentrated on Lyndon Johnson. Suprisingly good, I really enjoyed this one. And I loved how they favorably portrayed Johnson as a man in difficult situation after JFK murder trying to do the right thing and how Robert Kennedy was shown as spoiled Yankee idiot. Great humor in some scenes.

Charming film about legendary Venetian escort.
Very useful to study male-female dynamics, wonderful costumes, sets and beautiful cast, nicely spent time. Charming piece but bit naive with theatrical acting, although it fits with that kind of story.

You must have had a long attention span, Gettysburg goes for like 5 hours.
I saw The Patriot as a kid and thought it was dumb, but I was obsessed with war movies as a young kid, would always pick out any one I saw in the video rental shop. Better for children than watching non-stop retarded computer animations that portray the world as a fluffy fantasy land.
