It's thought to be a bottleneck phenomenon inside Finland, resulting in a high genetic similarity. In other words, all Europeans have the "Finnish" genes, but Finns only have a narrow portion of the European genetic spectrum due to low population and periphery effect.Quote:

Since you have a decent amount of Scottish ancestry I would definitely attribute the South Baltic, Finnish, and Volga-Ural admixture scores to the Germanic/Norse peoples who settled in Scotland. Also, Lahtari is absolutely right about the Finnish not having a lot of the genes other Europeans have but other Europeans having some Finnish genes.Quote:

As you know (probably), in this scheme the components mean :
