Come to think of it, it is almost nonsensical to lump West African and Khoisan together. Genetically they're probably further from each other than any Europeans are from each other. There is great genetic diversity in Africa.

The Khoisan - I have heard - are the "oldest" human branch in existence genetically today. Their DNA is ancestral to all three/four major races on earth today - including Mongoloid and European. They even show some Mongoloid traits.
