To me that suggests that if the unsuually high lactose tolerance in this area is due to particular practices around farming, that this area may have shared these common practices at some point in history. Just an idea, probably wrong but it did stick out.

Oh wait i think i realised. I basically meant that if the North Sea component and Lactose Tolerance overlap like that, that this entire area may have been subject to particular farming practices in common - If those practices resulted in a higher lactose tolerance for whatever reason among those populations (i don't know enough about farming to say any more). It's probably just purely coincidental, but interesting.

I would rather like to see a bigger split than just "north_swedish". Because the difference between people from different parts of north Sweden is bigger than the average north Swede compared to the average south Swede.

The "north_Swedish" component by David could be said as, Swedish with elevated amount of Finnic-like ancestry (Sami/Finnish/Kven).
The amount is probably around 20% for the population average made by him. Biggest difference compared to "southwest_finnish" is usually the higher amount of "north_sea" or "med" admixture in north Swedes (depending on what calc) and the higher amount of Baltic admixture in southwest_Finns.

Here are my Oracle results from this newest Eurogenes calculator. I find it interesting that North_Swedish tends to show up pretty consistently. I am 25% Italian, 25% Finnish and 50% Irish/British by known ancestry. I think that both my Finnish and Irish/British ancestry are probably responsible for the North_Swedish presence in my Oracle results.
