I wonder why I am closest to the average of those 2 Austrians, while no one of those 2 Austrians is amoung my 30 closest?

And Lithuanians as second, with only one of 10 Lithuanians in the top 30? Hmm

That is because some Germans are dissimilar to you. One of the Germans is 0.734813, another is 0.736583. None of the Lithuanians are as different, and most are equally close. Same thing with Austrians.

IBS stands for Identical By State, meaning the DNA matches either because it comes from a common ancestor (Identical By Descent - IBD) or by coincidence. When two individuals share numerous individual results without being related, those results are IBS. Only when enough consecutive results are identical do we identify the shared segment as likely being IBD.

Oh, so it's a bit like 23andme's ancestry finder?

Well, I just removed all the numbers automatically and manually made pivot tables for each member. Rather inefficient, but I cannot at present devise a better method, as I am short on time.

I'm wondering how you got these results ... when I look at the raw data, it seems (for example) that I am closer to the Belgian average than the Danish one. Also, sample sizes play a huge role here ...
