K13/K15 for provance4409 (which I excluded completely - but I might reconsider and add to Provence_North):

    K13:

    Code:
    provance4409,36.30,24.59,17.39,8.17,9.60,0.36,0.69,0,0,1.05,0,0,1.86
    K15:

    Code:
    provance4409,29.86,17.61,13.14,10.18,13.00,6.72,6.64,0.65,0.04,0,0,0.53,0,0,1.62
    ^^^
He scores Austria in Eurogenes K15... (and in G25 it also looks like he has some sort of Slovak-like admixture):

Yeah but this is a sample allegedly from Nord Department (of course I count it as part of "Central" - I excluded from "Belgica"):

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nord_(French_department)

    K15:

    Code:
    Nord28,25.14,31.46,9.32,2.58,18.26,3.44,6.2,1.14,1.13,0,0,0.96,0.24,0,0.12
    K13:

    Code:
    Nord28,44.26,14.93,23.28,3.82,8.98,1.56,1.31,0,0,1.22,0.33,0,0.31
It is among the most southern-shifted of Nord samples.

Provance4409 was only scoring 91% Paris because your comparison was limited to either Paris or Piedmont (no other options possible).

Look where this sample plots in Global25 PCA, right next to Austria8 and Austria11:

Based on K15 (see above), this sample is closest to Austria_Burgenland (whoever made that average).

I think this sample might have Polish great-grandfather or something like that (lots of Poles in France):

Maybe try a comparison with Paris + Piedmont + Belarusian/Ukrainian, and see if this one scores higher % of East Euro than all others.

Yeah that guy for sure has recent ancestry from East-Central Europe.
That's kinda the case with many samples from France, even academical ones I presume since they can't sample based on heritage conisdering it's illegal.

They can check the "ancestry" (atleast until the great-grd parents), they did that on the last study (Giemza et al) because without that, you have meaningless averages and studies

I think Greeks had very good methodology in this study (and of course they sampled based on heritage):

So it's not illegal? Cause I've heard numerous times that you can't collect info on others in France based on heritage.

Illegal to check the genealogy? I don't think.

This thread underscores that TA needs more members with French ancestry. So far Euro mutts and German-Americans are coming closest to French populations.

I have some samples of French from my cousins from the North of France, I could help

I prefer not to share my results because being that three quarter French, the results will be distorted.
