Greek Istanbul is a native Thracian, he is much closer to Mainland Greeks than to Pontics.

that sample passes as a Serb, but he could be many other things too, only his matches will reveal.

He could be part Crimean Greek, who seem to be more European than Pontics.

They work. Just use array.zip with plink files. But 11 samples are removed from it comparing to vcf. Don't know why.

Do you have the Balanovsky data? What format is it? That's a very valuable study, I wish someone ran all those samples and posted here. Can you at least show me the list of pops it contains?

Chernivtsi was part of Moldova so Lipka is rather doubtful. Can be any Eurasian steppe ancestry.

You don't know the history of the region. In late 17th century after Turks annexed Podolia from Poles, many Lipka Tatars migrated here. Later after Russian failed campaign from 1711, Turks transformed a big chunk of northern part of Moldova around Khotyn into Raia, where many Lipka Tatars moved from Podolia. Today in the far north exist a town with the name Lipcani, who was populated by them in the past.
