With Dienekes by segment I had a couple of NAN_Melanesian, and other Asian segments. I posted all that stuff on dna-forum.org before the forum disappeared.

To be fair, I have a crush on Polako and I had started non-dna conversations via pm, as well as dna conversations, and I think that is why he announced he doesn't want pms anymore.

I would not worry about the South Asian components whatsoever, and regard that as Ancient material or just plain noise.

Okay, well the first sequence of information you gave me seems to be too small to make anything of, which will be the case if you have only a very small and distant ancestral connection and affinity to that group.

The segment sections though are more interesting though, and I interpret that those percentages represent a segment on those chromosomes. If so the African seems to match where you found it on McDonald's, and the Amerindian seems to be as well.

I would say it seems fairly real to me, because of the percentage and because it consistently aligns with McDonald's analysis. I personally think McDonald's system is one of the most accurate out there, although Dienekes and Polako are very good for verifying and reiterating some of McDonald's analysis results.

It has to do with my 1/8th Italian ancestry, and I score substantially lower European relative to other Americans.

In McDonald's test I scored 5.4% Middle-Eastern, which is probably consistent for someone of my own ancestry, plus I have a lot of Southern German ancestry, which sometimes scored Middle-Eastern.

I think I score much higher Middle-Eastern and lower European than other Americans due to the fact other Americans in the test probably are more Anglo and Northwestern than me with my Southern Italian/South German ancestry.

That makes sense. I didn't know you were part Italian.
Since I'm 19% and you're 29% you have 10% more ME than me. I have no Italian. Your 1/8 Italian (Southern Italian?) would be 12.5% from a North/Northwest European. So a 10% difference/increase makes sense. It's in the ballpark.

The North Atlantic represents Ireland/Western British Isles. I had zero of that. Odd since the largest parcel of my ancestry is from the British Isles. But I had a very high North Sea (77%). North Sea was Eastern British Isles (Scotland) and Norway and Holland etc. This makes sense for me. My 23andme matches with Scottish ancestry are mainly from the Aberdeen/Dundee/Edinburgh area. And I also have ancestry from North Holland.

How were you able to enumerate your Admixture Proportions? I want to do this myself, but don't know how to. By the way, nice results. You have tremendous Middle Eastern admixture. And a considerable amount of West Asian as well.
