Ok, maybe not all but those with oracles and without few less used:)

Every calc has his own website with preinstaled oracle spreadsheet in SOURCE.
Just copy your results from Gedmatch for every calculator and paste them as comma separated values (in one line) in TARGET. And at the beginning add your name with comma (like in example below).

DISTANCE tab shows your distance to spreadsheet references.

SINGLE makes your oracles.
You can remove some references from SOURCE and make targeted runs in SINGLE, when you reload page they will be again added.
Also ADD DIST COL (ADC) function in SINGLE tab is very useful. It changes your results in some way.

I think interesting benefit is making multiple runs for many results at once (MULTI option)

I wouldn't be surprised. I am mostly interested in the minority results. Each time I raise the ADC, from 0 to .25 and then to 0.5, it removes more but the distances (from 0) begin to grow. That means the calc is becoming less accurate, correct?

Can you provide your opinion the smaller populations? Naxi, Japanese, Nogay, that remain even after raising the ADC?

Using this same calculator on G25 yields better results, that seem to naturally divide my ancestry into it's two halves. Here the results are generally more mid-point oriented. But at ADC 2x I end up at more or less the same place in Eurgenes and G25 - Austria. K15 pushes my mid-point more to East Germany.

I've been experimenting with it during my off day today. I also just did Dodecad K12b. Now I only use the ADC at .25 and .5 because any lower does bring the overall distance closer to 0, but gives me a huge list like you and I am looking for accurate results that show true even with a broader ADC.

Haha, yeah, it very well seems like :D I believe ADC 0.5x and 1x might be the closest to me, since it recognizes my largely Hungarian origin, but also sees my German side (even though even to me the large percentage is quite a surprise), with even slightest of Asiatic, which even 23andMe sees ca. 1% in my Trace results.

I didn't expect such accurate results.

-> Afghan-Turkmen is the Oghuz proxy
-> Such Bulgarian/Thessaly ratio will be equal to Easterner Bulgarians
-> It shows Iranic admixture at 0.25x then changes it to the Anatolian in 0.5x but fit gets higher.
-> It also shows both Oghuz and Nogai admixture at 1x but fit gets two times higher, despite, it may be a clue since it could continue by adding Turkish and Iranic instead of Nogay but preferred it because of some reason.

These all make me think that we carry all of it actually. Some brought Iranic admixture, some brought Anatolian admixture and some Tatar admixture. These all melted in one pot among Balkan Turks. But this conclusion only regarding these results.

Me too. My west Asian is very high (same as my mother and I see Stears/Hrvoje too), while my East Med is below average. I also score no Red Sea at all. How about you?

East Med is a little below average too and I don't score Red Sea on any of the calculators. I think the West Asian is what shifts me towards the east on a PCA, because all of the western nations on the same latitude such as North Italians, Iberians and South French generally have low West Asian (CHG).

Greek references are the same. I added Turkish Trabzon simply (and few other regional Turkish refs from newer datasest). Probably it is most likely turkified Pontian Greek this is why it popped out.

I didn't expect such accurate results.

-> Afghan-Turkmen is the Oghuz proxy
-> Such Bulgarian/Thessaly ratio will be equal to Easterner Bulgarians
-> It shows Iranic admixture at 0.25x then changes it to the Anatolian in 0.5x but fit gets higher.
-> It also shows both Oghuz and Nogai admixture at 1x but fit gets two times higher, despite, it may be a clue since it could continue by adding Turkish and Iranic instead of Nogay but preferred it because of some reason.

These all make me think that we carry all of it actually. Some brought Iranic admixture, some brought Anatolian admixture and some Tatar admixture. These all melted in one pot among Balkan Turks. But this conclusion only regarding these results.

It seems it works for you. In my case, it shifts to southern for both 23andMe and FTDNA kits. Here both for all distances,

These models are spot on. Romanian + Andros will make Macedonia Thrace and the rest is from the Turk part.

The thing which i didn't understand is your Greek admixture in these models and in most of the calculators, how is that possible to score such high while you don't have an ancestor from Greece? Or any town which is not highly populated by Greeks? You were thinking it is about your side which is from Kardzhali. Because they were identifying as "Dağlı"(Mountaineer) as an addition to their Turk identity and this was making them different than the others, i also remember we talked potential Sarakatsani-Dağlı connection in the past.

But after some time thinking about this, i can say that there are one more possible way to explain it. Because Dağlı results don't fit our imagination. See:

This person identifies as Dağlı. If i remember well, their migration date to Turkey is similar to your family and again, if i remember well, you two live in the same city in Turkey. And you two also matched. Despite we thought they had Greek admixture instead of Bulgarian and probably has little Turkic admixture, he has one of the most legit Bulgarian-Oghuz results i have ever seen.

On the other hand, you also have Gevgelija ancestry from Northern Macedonia. I searched languages spoken in this town during the Ottoman Empire and saw that there were primary schools in which their teachers are not assigned by the Ottoman government. But Greek schools already connected to the government, then?

You may think 5000 is small. But Macedonia has around 1000, Greece has around 4000 and Romania has around 1000. So this means half of their population converted. The ones who migrated to Turkey known as "Karacaovalılar"



In 1900, the then province of Gevgelija, which contained most of the Megleno-Romanian settlements, had a population of 49,315, of which 20,643 Slavs, 14,900 Turks, 9,400 Christian Aromanians and Megleno-Romanians, 3,500 Muslim Megleno-Romanians, 655 Gypsies, and 187 Circassians


Even if your ancestor is not convert but ethnic Turk, this map is from the 18th century and shows that the native population of the region were Vlachs, they didn't migrate from anywhere to there. So their admixture will be Vlach.

I will add new academic NE-Greek samples to K15. What do you think about them? There are in G25 since month or so.

I know, i think Davidski used the GREEKGRALPOP average for Greek_Thessaly, he didn't know where they are from(since the author of the article didn't state it, i asked from twitter lol) and wrote Thessaly because it was at the middle point. But almost all GREEKGRALPOP samples were from Thrace with few Pontiacs. I thought this because he did the same thing when i gave him Balkan Turk samples.

NE-Greek samples are from between Eastern Macedonia and Eastern Thrace and they have different genetic compared to Central Macedonia(Thessaloniki). I can suggest you to not bind them with Thessaloniki, but they are proper samples.

I can also give you some other Greek, Bulgarian and all other Muslim Balkanite samples but have to deep dive on the archive since this new Gedmatch thing blocked almost all kits.

No mostly all British & Irish. I used to score a tiny amount but with trace these come and go. Modern dna companies are just comparing you against people of your own ethnicity and the British & Irish category is very much geared to Irish. On Ancestry I'm 100% Ireland & Scotland.

This is the output of the smoother analysis of one copy of chromosome 2. Starting on the left, there is a short run of pink, then a wider run of green, then another run of pink. In this chart, pink is the color for Sub-Saharan African ancestry, and green is the color for Native American. The y-axis runs from 0 to 100 percent, and it shows the probability that the DNA in that region of the chromosome comes from each Ancestry Composition population. These pink and green regions fill the entire vertical space of the graph, which means that we are 100 percent confident that the DNA in those regions has Sub-Saharan African and Native American genetic ancestry, respectively.

The next region to the right — between positions 50 and 100 on the x-axis — is a stretch of multi-colored blue. The thickest strip at the bottom is dark teal, which is the color for British & Irish. This segment of DNA has somewhere between a 50 percent chance and a 60 percent chance of reflecting from British & Irish ancestry. The other shades of blue show that the same DNA segment also has a chance of reflecting Italian, Iberian, or French & German ancestry. We can very confidently conclude that this stretch of DNA reflects European ancestry, but the evidence isn't strong enough to assign it to one specific region of Europe with high confidence.

Step 4: Re-calibration
This plot shows a lot of information, but how do we know it's correct? We use a calibration step to correct for systematic bias.

First, we ran some tests to establish whether we needed to correct for any bias. To do so, we simulated a large set of admixed individuals. Because we simulated them ourselves, we knew the "true" ancestry of each part of their genome. Then we ran these simulated individuals through the entire Ancestry Composition pipeline, and we compared their results with their true ancestries.

We found that most of the reference populations were already fairly well calibrated, which means the ancestry probabilities we estimated closely matched the empirical results. But there were a few populations, in particular the Scandinavian and Balkan reference populations, that required some adjustment.

To correct these probability estimates, we developed a re-calibration step that adjusts the ancestry proportions produced by the smoother so that each population is assigned in proportion to how often it actually occurs.

Step 5: Aggregation & Reporting
The last step is to summarize the results and display them in your Chromosome Painting. The way we do this is to apply a threshold to the probability plot as in this figure:

The horizontal line in this image indicates a 70 percent confidence threshold, which we will use for this example. You can view your own Chromosome Painting at different confidence thresholds ranging from 50 percent (speculative) to 90 percent (conservative).

We look across the entire chromosome and ask whether any ancestry has an estimated probability exceeding the specified threshold (in this case 70 percent). In this example, with the exception of the blue European stretch, the ancestry estimates exceed 70 percent over the majority of the chromosome. Each region contributes to your overall Ancestry Composition in proportion to its size: For example, the green Native American segment near the end of this plot makes up about 0.26 percent of the entire genome. Even though there is some probability that the segment comes from a different population, the Native American proportion exceeds the 70 percent threshold, and so we add 0.26 percent Native American to the overall Ancestry Composition at this threshold.

In the case of the European segment, no single ancestry exceeds the 70 percent threshold, so we don't assign that DNA to any fine-grained ancestries. Instead, we refer to our hierarchy of ancestries. There is a Broadly Northern European ancestry that includes four fine-level ancestries: British & Irish, Scandinavian, Finnish, and French & German. If, when we add up the contributions of each of these subgroups, the total contribution toward Broadly Northern European exceeds the 70 percent threshold, then we will report the region as Broadly Northern European.

In this example, the Broadly Northern European reference populations still don't exceed the 70 percent threshold, but the combined probabilities of all the European populations do. So this region is assigned Broadly European ancestry.

We use broad Ancestry Composition categories to avoid making assumptions about your ancestry when your DNA matches several different country-level populations. In regions where no ancestry — including the broad ancestries — exceeds the specified threshold, we report Unassigned ancestry. You can see the entire ancestry hierarchy in your Ancestry Composition report by clicking "See all tested populations."

These models are spot on. Romanian + Andros will make Macedonia Thrace and the rest is from the Turk part.

The thing which i didn't understand is your Greek admixture in these models and in most of the calculators, how is that possible to score such high while you don't have an ancestor from Greece? Or any town which is not highly populated by Greeks? You were thinking it is about your side which is from Kardzhali. Because they were identifying as "Dağlı"(Mountaineer) as an addition to their Turk identity and this was making them different than the others, i also remember we talked potential Sarakatsani-Dağlı connection in the past.

But after some time thinking about this, i can say that there are one more possible way to explain it. Because Dağlı results don't fit our imagination. See:

This person identifies as Dağlı. If i remember well, their migration date to Turkey is similar to your family and again, if i remember well, you two live in the same city in Turkey. And you two also matched. Despite we thought they had Greek admixture instead of Bulgarian and probably has little Turkic admixture, he has one of the most legit Bulgarian-Oghuz results i have ever seen.

On the other hand, you also have Gevgelija ancestry from Northern Macedonia. I searched languages spoken in this town during the Ottoman Empire and saw that there were primary schools in which their teachers are not assigned by the Ottoman government. But Greek schools already connected to the government, then?

You may think 5000 is small. But Macedonia has around 1000, Greece has around 4000 and Romania has around 1000. So this means half of their population converted. The ones who migrated to Turkey known as "Karacaovalılar"




Even if your ancestor is not convert but ethnic Turk, this map is from the 18th century and shows that the native population of the region were Vlachs, they didn't migrate from anywhere to there. So their admixture will be Vlach.

Indeed. In the beginning, I was thinking it can be related with my Gevgelija part. Later, I learned about Sarakatsani people and they also call themselves as Mountaineers. Yet, I am half Dağlı. He is from Kardzhali, yes. He lives in Eastern Thrace and migrated with the mass migration that occurred in the 1950s if i remember well. It was the last year which i talked with him.

The only thing which we should do is taking 25% of a Vlach from that region(*****?), taking 50% of this result, and also 25% from Balkan Mountains, or Lovech Pomak, or Ludogorie. We can try which one will fit then compare the final scores with your result. Then we will able to see. 1/4 May not be enough to reduce your East Eurasian to such level, so i really expect a low East Eurasian Turk from Balkan Mountains(you get literally every region from there in 23andMe which is strange) or a Turk who mixed with Lovech Pomak.


Getting Romania makes sense with this theory, also matching with a Macedonian Vlach too.

I know, but szekely are relatively close community. Exept for recent german, romanian, armenian or gypsy admix, szekely are so similar. I think that Kökény it’s a nice example of Szekely, she come from a “pure” Szekely zone.
