Looks normal. Probably has some tork ancestry (very common all over Iran). But certainly not the average for Shiraz, as you can see by the distances.

Maybe ask the person, idk. There were also Turkish-tribes in South of Iran who are mostly completely assimilated by now (except Qashqai). He has 3% East Eurasian could be 1/4 Azeri too or half. There are also full Azeris who are only around 36% Caucasus. A large percentage of Azerbaijanis doesn't have anything to do with Transcaucasus region. A common misconception.
Kurdish ancestry could be possible too.
Lots of possibilites.

It's a lot for Iran but overall doesn't look damaged to me at all.
By the way, it would interesting to find some people from Fereydoonshahr. It's the place where Iranian Georgians live. They are completely Islamicized of course and probably mixed by now but still at least half Georgians half Persians must be common.
Christian Palestinian from Bethlehem
I suppose the Levant has remained nearly untouched by updates.

It is really interesting how trabzon turks got completely assimilated without any turkic admixture. We have a government site which you can check your whole family tree since 1800s and all of my maternal side since 1815 are from the same village and I dont think it was really different before 1815. So it's really interesting how they have changed their identity, religion, language while marrying with each other and not intermarrying with turks. I really wonder how is that assimilation process happened. I couldn't find good information about that neither.
It's interesting, yes. As an Orthodox Christian, I personally consider them ex-Orthodox (apostate). Their Islamization did not take place until after the 1400s or even the 1500s. Prior to that they had been Christian for nearly 1,000 years.
Genetically they appear to be a mix of Laz, Pontic Greek and Armenian.
Idk about you but we have here a lot of eastern blacksea turks(Giresun/Trabzon/Rize) and all of them describe themselves as Laz. I once spoke with Trabzonlu who told me that he has Pontus Greek ancestry, without reluctance which is absolutely right in my opinion. Turks also know that this area is full of Lazes but they don’t care about. So i dont understand why that is surprising for people that they show different results, they are still a part of Turkish people.
Yes, i have some pontic greek ancestors too that i didnt know till i have checked that government site and my maternal side still identfy as Turkish despite having some pontic greek ancestry and dna results. That things didnt change anything. And people here call eastern blacksea people as laz too but i thing they dont say it seriously, more like a joking way. It's just interesting to me how can a population change their indentity, language, religion without intermarrying back in the old days. Kurds still identify as kurds and laz people still identify as laz and most of them can still talk their language but trabzon turks' case is really interesting to me.
What about the Meskhetians? See the first page of the thread. User Fiko0 is a Meskhetian from NE Turkey and he is virtually zero EE too.
To be honest, i don’t know much about them just that they were deported to central asia. Maybe during Ottoman/Safevid empire a group of Caucasians became Turkish. The question is why justva specific group and not hole caucasus. At least, there are not Ahiska(turkish for meskhetian) Turks which were mentioned in Ottoman archives.
I think because there werent much migration. Look to Turks, that is very opposite, they are heterogenous. I think that is probably the main reason for their homogenous genetics of NE-Turkey. Lets forget the cities with high muhacir population, fir example when i research about the origin of the place names in Turkey, they mention different tribes of different origins. Some migrated from east to west, some intermarried with other ethnicities etc. I think this movements and mobility lacks in Trabzon.
Yes its probably about lack of migrations to that region. Trabzon is the last place that conquered by turkic groups (ottomans, karaman, aq qoyunlu etc.)
https://istanbultravelblog.com/wp-co...tantinople.jpg
This is the map of anatolia at 1453 and trabzon got conquered at 1461. I think at that time whole turkic migration to anatolia was over and after 1461 they didnt migrate to trabzon. But how trabzon turks got assimilated and learned the language. Like i said all of my maternal side since 1815 are from the same village, who came to that village and teach them that language, religion etc. I think sardinians are like that too, they dont have indo-european admixture but they speak an indo european language.
Turkic migration was not over, until to 19th century Turkmen tribes migrated, just an example: last eastern anatolian turkmens(nomads) migrated from Erzurum(sorry, nit Erzincan)to Kirikkale. At this time, the overwhelming majority of nomads were settled. We know that many eastern anatolian tribes fled between 15-17 th century to Iran, and we know there are tribes who came in 18th century to Turkey from Iran. Still in their folk poetry they say „we are descending from Nader Shah“.
Hey Bender, how common are settlements from Iran (Khorasan, Güney Azerbaycan) in Central Anatolia. I've now came across multiple random villages where it's said they came around 18th century from Iran.
I also know from some Azerbaijani tribes that got back into Anatolia.

I know there is a Khalaj village in the hometown from my homeparents. And there is a district in Aksaray which was founded by Khalac tribes. The province Aksaray was also well known place for camel dealers from Chorasan. One of them were some Abdals in Kirsehir, the folk singers which i showed were of them. And they came „late“ to Anatolia, at the earliest 17/18th century. Afshars, the most common Central Anatolian tribe, also migrated from there. The migration from Azerbaijan mostly happened at the beginning of Turkic presence in West Asia, so i must look whether there were other movements. I think most of us came from Chorasan, that is most common. Maybe also interesting for you, many here are descendants of Bozulus Turkmens(Akkoyunlu) who lived in Eastern Anatolia/Azerbaijan. Another reason why E-Turkey, apart from Azerbaijani/Turkmen/Qarakalpak settlements are low Turkic influenced.
Edit: the konya result, the second village is probably from chorasan turkmens founded. You can see, it is very common in Central Anatolia, but i am surprised why the person had low mongoloid. Ankara and the borderlands of Ankara/Konya have many Chorasan Turkmens, it would be cool find someone which is not mixed.

Are there any decent photos of people like that? Do they look like Armenians or Georgians? Or perhaps neither?
Also, don't forget to click Single on Vahaduo.

I'd say these two can pass as typical Trabzonians.
They resemble more to Georgians than to Armenians, although ther is not that big difference. Sometimes you can see that someone is frome black sea area, sometimes there is no difference to Turks. You know hoe Erdogan looks, he is from Rize and Georgian descendant, he has a typical east black sea look.
